What type of franchise is it? There are 2 types of franchise, 'product franchise' and 'package franchises'. 'Product franchises' exist mainly to distribute the parent company's goods. An example is gas stations. With this model you will have alot of control over how the franchise is run. Whereas 'package franchises' generally come complete with a business model laid out by the parent company that you must stick to i.e. fast-food restaurants. This model includes everything from financial controls to hiring guidelines.
